Responsibilities
- Food prep: This includes tasks like chopping vegetables, mixing ingredients, preparing sauces and dressings, and portioning out meats and cheeses.
- Cooking: Line cooks will use various cooking methods like grilling, frying, sautéing, and baking to prepare menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Plating: They plate dishes according to the chef's instructions to ensure a visually appealing presentation.
- Maintaining the station: Line cooks keep their assigned station clean and organized, restocking supplies and equipment throughout the shift.
- Sanitation: Following food safety protocols is essential. Line cooks will clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to prevent contamination.
- Communication: They collaborate with fellow line cooks, chefs, and servers to ensure a seamless kitchen operation and timely meal service.
